Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Alpha 2 Macroglobulin (A2M)
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Alpha 2 Macroglobulin (A2M) are both biologic treatments used in regenerative medicine to promote healing and reduce inflammation. PRP is created by concentrating platelets from a patient’s own blood, which is then injected into injured tissues to stimulate natural healing processes by releasing growth factors that aid in tissue repair. A2M, on the other hand, is a plasma protein that inhibits proteases which break down cartilage and other tissues. It is used particularly in joint treatment to prevent the degradation of cartilage, reduce inflammation, and protect against the progression of osteoarthritis. Together, these therapies leverage the body’s own mechanisms to treat injuries, reduce pain, and restore function in degenerative and injured conditions.

What is PRP?
How does PRP work?
Platelets perform many jobs in your body, one of these is supplying your body with several growth factors that help promote healing. PRP takes your current platelets and concentrates them to increase the amount of growth factors in the area that you need them most.
Will PRP work for me?
PRP therapy can benefit anyone looking for a boost to their body’s natural processes in healing injuries. PRP can be injected directly into problem joints or muscles that are sluggish to heal.
What is the process involved with PRP treatment?
Our providers will draw a sample of blood from one of your veins. The blood is placed in specialized tubes and spun in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelets. That concentrated fluid is then injected into the specific area that needs healing.

Alpha-2-Macroglobulin (A2M)
What is A2M?
A2M is a naturally produced molecule made by the liver which protects cartilage from inflammation and destruction. A2M is often depleted or absent in the joints in patients with arthritis. As a solution to the problem, ReGen Advanced Infusions and Wellness utilizes a regenerative A2M concentrate for treatment. The A2M is injected directly into affected joints to inhibit the progression of arthritis at the source.
How Does A2M Work?
When you suffer from arthritis, the natural process of breaking down and rebuilding your joint tissue becomes dysregulated and the molecules that break down cartilage become more active than the molecules rebuilding the tissue. Proteases are the molecules which cause cartilage to break down when they are active, they cause pain. Unchecked protease activity can eventually cause your cartilage to disappear completely, resulting in painful friction of bones rubbing together. In healthy joints, cartilage works as a buffer to prevent bone-on-bone contact.
A2M halts the progression of osteoarthritis at the molecular level by trapping the proteases that cause your joints to break down. As the A2M captures and neutralizes the damaging molecules, your body will work to eliminate them. Your joint will then begin to recover, as the inflammation is subdued, and harmful proteases no longer function unchecked.A2M remaining in your joint will promote tissue growth and your joint can begin the restoration process.
Will A2M Work for Me?
A2M will help temporarily improve the pain and damage of arthritis in most patients. The joint restoration process will work best when used early in arthritis treatment, before destruction has progressed. This will allow for the maximum amount of cartilage to be protected before becoming severely damaged. In those with untreated arthritis, A2M injections can still be effective. The restoration process may not be as thorough but will still inhibit disease progression.
What is the process involved with A2M therapy?
Since A2M is naturally circulating in your blood, we draw a sample of your blood in specific tubes that are manufactured to help us isolate A2M. The blood sample is put in a centrifuge and spun until the A2M is in a concentrated layer in the tube. The concentrated fluid is then run through a filter to help isolate the A2M. The resulting product is added to a biomatrix, drawn into a syringe, and then injected though the skin into the area that your body needs it the most. A2M works best as a pre-treatment for message signalling cells (MSCs or stem cells) and can be combined with an FDA approved therapy of hyaluronic acid that helps give your joint a cushion while the A2M does its work. After the A2M has neutralized the proteases (this takes about 3 months), your joint will be ready for MSC injection.
