Ketamine also helps with many of the symptoms that can accompany addictions, such as depression and anxiety.

2) Peptides and Supplements

GLP-1 peptides (semaglutide and tirzepatide) have been shown to help reduce cravings. This is what makes them effective in weight loss for many patients. They also provide a significant boost to those struggling with addiction to overcome their cravings and help them focus on their treatment plans.

When Substance Use Requires Medical Evaluation

Not all substance use requires medical care—but certain signs mean professional evaluation is strongly recommended:

Immediate/emergent evaluation

Overdose symptoms (slow breathing, unconsciousness)
Severe withdrawal symptoms, such as shakes, seizures, hallucinations, and agitation
Suicidal thoughts or severe depression
Hallucinations or paranoia

Clinical evaluation recommended

Increasing tolerance, increasing the amount of the substance to maintain the same result
