Naltrexone

Low Dose Naltrexone Benefits and Treatment

What is Low-Dose Naltrexone

Low-Dose Naltrexone (LDN) Naltrexone is a medication used to reverse overdoses of opiate substances and help people overcome opiate addictions. At much lower doses than its standard prescription (typically 1.5–4.5 mg vs. 50 mg), it is helpful for immune modulation and chronic pain conditions.

Benefits of LDN

  • Reduced pain sensitivity
  • Improved sleep quality
  • Less fatigue and brain fog
  • Decreased flare frequency in autoimmune conditions

How LDN Works

At low doses, naltrexone behaves differently than at full strength:

  • Endorphin rebound effect: Briefly blocks opioid receptors → body compensates by increasing natural endorphins.
  • Immune modulation and cytokine regulation: Reduces inflammation by blocking specific inflammatory pathways in the central nervous system.

These effects are why we use LDN in autoimmune and chronic pain disorders.

LDN May Help With the Following Conditions

Chronic Pain Syndromes

    • Fibromyalgia
    • Complex Regional Pain Syndrome

Autoimmune Diseases

    • Multiple Sclerosis
    • Crohn’s Disease
    • Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis

Other Inflammatory Conditions

    • Rheumatoid Arthritis
